Stuart L. Fred, PresidentStuart L. Fred, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Stuart began his prolific career in commercial real estate in 1984 starting Bomasada with a vision to acquire, redevelop and manage existing multifamily and retail properties. After successful implementation and rapid economic growth, he began partnering to develop new multifamily projects. Today, Stuart oversees day-to-day operations for Bomasada, one of the premier privately-held multifamily real estate development / contracting firms in the southern United States. Since its inception, the Bomasada team has now completed over $1.5 billion of transactional business in new developments, construction and acquisitions. Stuart seeks continuing educational opportunities in construction and real estate management. He attended Texas A&M University, Class of  ‘78  in Environmental Design. Stuart is an active and past member of numerous organizations including: National Multi Housing Council, National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Texas Association of Realtors, National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association  (AOPA). He is the current  President of the Herb Fred Medical Association, Board Member / Founding  Director of the Cessna Jet Pilots Association (CJP) and  Board Member of the National Air and Space Museum, Washington D.C.

Throughout his prevalent commercial real estate career, John has negotiated and closed over $1.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions. He has led and represented institutional and private investors in the development, acquisition and/or disposition of over 8,000 multifamily units. John utilizes his extensive knowledge acquired over 34 years of experience to identify key acquisition and development opportunities for Bomasada. Through targeted, proprietary economic and feasibility studies, he is able to identify pre-development opportunities. From site identification through land acquisition, permitting, community relations, development, marketing, stabilization and disposition, John brings exceptional value to every project. John graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Biology. He is a licensed Texas real estate broker and active in philanthropic endeavors.

John’s career started in 1968 working for a General Contractor specializing in the construction of large processing and chemical plants in four Southern States soon transitioning into heavy commercial work solely in Texas. In 1980 John was given the opportunity to migrate into the multifamily construction business. For the past 34 years, John has been providing his construction expertise in all aspects of high and low density multifamily construction. John has utilized his expertise and experience in the development, design, management and construction of over 18,000 units in 16 states. He also has extensive experience in industrial, commercial retail, tenant finish out, municipal, road and bridge construction. John remains current and up to date in all areas of construction building codes and the interpretation of state, local and federal rules and regulations to all types of construction. With years of experience in value engineering and the design of multifamily construction, John continues to provide integral guidance and over sight in order to achieve the best end result and cost efficiency for Bomasada’s current projects.

Douglas E. Altenbern, Construction ManagerDouglas E. Altenbern, Vice President of Construction

Over his 30 year career, Doug has constructed and managed projects in a wide variety of settings, including mid-rise and high density multifamily, commercial construction, institutional and single-family developments.  His experience includes over 5,000 multifamily units and 1 million square feet of commercial construction. Decades of experience in the industry have enabled Doug to develop a thorough appreciation of the complexities involved in the development and construction process.  His success over the years is attributable to his ability to facilitate and coordinate the efforts of those who contribute to the key components of a project, including owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.  His focus on project details, team building and communication has ensured positive outcomes in all phases of development from building design, hands-on construction management and timely delivery.   Doug enjoys boating and golf as well as live music and sports.

Wayne Hubley, Production/Project ManagerWayne Hubley, Sr. Project Manager

Wayne has been with Bomasada for over 31 years. He has extensive experience in both multifamily and commercial construction, managing projects with a total dollar volume exceeding $800 million. Wayne assists in the day-to-day on-site operations of many of the properties in the Bomasada portfolio. These responsibilities include overseeing on-site management and staff, soliciting bids and awarding contracts for capital improvements. Wayne is an avid fisherman and devotes time to directing youth programs in hockey and volleyball.

Lisa Fred, In-House Interior DesignerLisa Fred, In-House Interior Designer

Lisa is an integral part of the design process at Bomasada. She incorporates her passion for hospitality design and love of the Arts with her desire to create personalized environments for the multifamily market. Through careful selection of color, material finishes, furniture, lighting techniques, and art selection, Lisa’s collaborative design efforts help position Bomasada’s multifamily developments as unique communities of distinction. Lisa received her BA in Interior Design from the accredited Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). She is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID). Her work has been featured at NEOCON, the premier interior design industry convention, as well as the Boundary Hall Exhibit in Savannah, Ga.

Amy Gilbert, Marketing ManagerAmy Gilbert, Marketing Manager

Responsible for the marketing, communications, branding initiatives and media relations for Bomasada, Amy is a fundamental part of the team. Her primary focus is to create brand awareness to help drive the multifamily business. Prior to joining Bomasada, Amy was the Public Relations Assistant Manager for Neiman Marcus Houston. Working in a luxury market for over 6 years and managing the production of numerous events, Amy has interacted closely with a broad range of high-end clients.  Having worked with diverse cultures, Amy knows how important it is to understand individuals’ needs and the ability to connect with multiple groups. With her attention to detail and passion for creativity, her wheels are always turning to make sure she is staying ahead of the game. Amy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she received her BA in Psychology. She is a board member of the Young Adult Division (YAD) for the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.

Jo Asher Ved, Accounting ManagerJo Asher Ved, Accounting Manager

Jo has managed all accounting and treasury functions for Bomasada for 17 years. Her focus includes software conversions, implementation of the accounting system, job costing and subcontract recording in the form of AIA formats for the construction entity, applications of payments to lenders, financial reporting, cash management and auditing for multiple entities. She brings broad accounting experience across multiple industries including manufacturing, banking and television broadcasting. Jo received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Bombay.  She is an active participant in community non-profit organizations and is a student of vocal classical music.
